I graduated from Notre Dame in 2005 with a major in Finance and a minor in the Hesburgh Program in Public Policy. As an undergraduate, I was involved with SIBC’s Finance division and led various projects including an IPO project and Credit Suisse’s valuation project.

I also participated in the inaugural Lucca Leadership Conference in Lucca, Italy along with four other Notre Dame SIBC students and one San Diego SIBC student. This was a week-long leadership conference held with about 40 international students. It was my first trip to Europe and my first extended interaction (both intellectually and socially) with a significant number of cultures.  I also secured my first professional internship, with Credit Suisse in Chicago, largely through the connections I made while working on the SIBC project led by the firm.  

SIBC introduced me to a world that I was largely ignorant of heading into college. The various extracurricular projects provided a backbone of experience that was complimentary to ND’s curriculum, a plethora of connections at various firms in both Chicago and New York, and a unique talking point in interviews.

I have continued my involvement with the SIBC in my post-graduate years through the International Business Council (IBC), most recently serving as its President.  I think the exposure to people, firms, industries, and cultures the SIBC provides is a significant “value add” to the Notre Dame curriculum.  

If I had to describe SIBC in two words, they would be Transformative and Distinctive.
